I installed some aftermarket cowl filters and filter guards today. These replace the stock large filter housings on each side of the engine compartment for HVAC, etc. They are washable/reusable.

A very common cosmetic problem with the e9x BMWs (and maybe nearly all models?) is that the window trim disintegrates and looks like shit.
